Before Sound On
Have you got your ticket ready? Make sure to print out your ticket using the ezyticket print at home option, so your it’s ready to present to RAC Arena staff at the door.
Besides your ticket, one of the most important things you need to bring with is your ID. Check out the list below to see what forms of ID will be accepted by RAC Arena. If a passport is your only optiom, it might be worth checking to see if you know where it is before the event – just in case you need to apply for a new passport!
Examples of ID you can use are:
- High School Student Card
- Learners Permit
- Drivers Licence
- Plastic or Laminated School ID
- Boat License (only if it has Name, D.O.B & Photo)
- Motorbike Licence (only if it has Name, D.O.B & Photo)
- Proof of Age card
- Copy of Birth Certificate & Current photo
You’re welcome to bring a water bottle with you, but it must be empty. We also recommend bringing a bag no bigger than the size of an A4 piece of paper, and be careful not to bring any banned items.
Getting in to the festival
Do you know how you are going to get to Sound On? Organise to go with friends and get dropped off together or catch public transport. Remember, transport fees are not included with your ticket, but you can show your Student SmartRider to get student concession prices.
Doors won’t open until 2pm, so there’s no point getting to RAC Arena too early. As much as you’d like to try and catch a glimpse of your favourite artist before the event, we don’t recommend lining up hours in advance. You’ll be able to see all the artists up close and personal at each of their sets, and at the Create the Life You Want panel talk.
Once doors have finally opened, you’ll be asked to present your ticket and ID. If the name on your ticket doesn’t match your ID, this is OK. Just make sure to bring valid ID for proof of age.
You’re in! Now what?
If you’ve got a jacket, jumper or bag you’d like to store somewhere inside the venue, there is a cloak room where you be able to store your belongings and collect again as you leave the venue.
Besides being able to see Peking Duk, Ruel, G Flip, Stevan and FlexMami during their live sets, there are a whole heap of other free activities you can enjoy throughout the day including a silent disco, photo booth, chill out zone, gaming zone, and glitter bar.
You’ll also get to hear from the artists themselves as part of the Create the Life You Want artist talk panel. Guided by The Indigo Project, our Sound On artists will be chatting about their personal experience with school, study, stress, and everything in between.
You can also learn how to harness the power of music and mindfulness to tune out the sounds of everyday life, stress and anxiety in the immersive Future Beats experience. If you’re ever in need of assistance during the festival, The Red Frogs will be roaming around Sound On to help you out, so look for The Red Frogs crew – they’ll be the ones handing out red frog lollies to everyone!
But no matter what you’re into, you’ll be spoilt for choice with the range of awesome live music and fun, free activities and experiences available all day!
